Systems Designer

Pay Range$28.00 – $53.00

We are seeking a talented and motivated Systems Designer to be a vital part of our Engineering team. If you have a passion for mechanical design, science and technology we want to hear from you!

This is full-time role located at our facility in Cambridge, Ontario.  Day shift Monday to Friday with some overtime.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

Mechanical and Systems Design

  • Design and development of mechanical aspects of custom and engineered to order machines using SolidWorks
  • Provide and implement engineering solutions to mechanical and systems challenges
  • Understand the customer’s process, our products, and the industry to develop innovative technologies
  • Assist project teams with technical challenges and provide technical direction
  • Participate in continuous systems design improvements on Angstrom products
  • Keep abreast of current technology
  • Responsible for ensuring designs satisfy contract specifications and all applicable design standards
  • Review final designs and engineering drawings

Purchasing

  • Develop bills of materials and purchase orders
  • Work with existing and potential vendors on any design and manufacturing issues
  • Source new products and vendors

Qualifications

  • A post-secondary degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Resourceful with a proven ability to complete tasks
  • Ability to work and grow independently
  • Ability to solve technical problems
  • Experience using Solidworks, word processing and spreadsheets
