Applications Scientist

Our Coating Services division focuses on delivering value to our customer community by sharing our expertise in thin film coating design, process development, and manufacturing. We are seeking an Applications Scientist who will support the growth and development of this business through close interaction with our internal teams, our customers, our vendor partners, and our in-house suite of deposition and characterization equipment. This is full-time role located at our facility in Cambridge, Ontario. Day shift Monday to Friday Pay Range: $25.00 - $40.00/hr
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Research and optimization of thin film coatings for customer coating projects, product performance demonstrations, and internal product development
  • Completing coating projects, including sample preparation, operating thin film deposition equipment, sample analysis, data management, and packaging
  • Supporting the Coating Services sales process, including opportunities for application review and quoting
  • Managing customer visits for coating services and product performance demonstration projects
  • Completing maintenance and troubleshooting of our in-house deposition equipment
  • Managing inventory of coating materials, consumables, and standard products
  • Process and manage orders
  • Represent and promote Angstrom Engineering to our customers
  • Measure and provide feedback on customer satisfaction
QUALIFICATIONS OVERVIEW:
  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in science or engineering
  • Experience developing thin film deposition processes to meet pre-determined coating specifications in a research and development environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work with customers to understand & help solve their challenges
  • Strong analytical and data management skills
  • Resourceful with a proven ability to complete tasks within predetermined deadlines
  • Organized and comfortable working on multiple projects at a time
  • Good work ethic with a positive attitude and desire to work as a team

Pay Range
The listed pay range represents the expected compensation for this position. Individual pay will be determined by factors such as job-related skills, applicable experience, and relevant education and training.
