Accounting Technician
Pay Range $19.00-$30.00/hr
We are seeking a talented and motivated Accounting Technician to be a vital part of our Finance team. If you have a passion for finance and accounting, we want to hear from you!
This is full-time role located at our facility in Cambridge, Ontario. Day shift Monday to Friday with some overtime.
RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

- Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring proper coding and approvals.
- Generate customer invoices based on contracts, purchase orders or service reports
- Prepare and file period sales tax returns
- Maintain updated files, research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues, file all correspondence
- Respond to inquiries from internal and external partners
- Assist with general ledger postings, journal entries and account reconciliations
- Support month end and year end closing procedures
- Provide general support to the finance team on special projects or other duties as assigned
- Maintain data accuracy in accounting software and ERP systems
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and contribute to workflow improvements
- Support the implementation or enhancement of accounting systems and controls
Qualifications
- Must have knowledge of general accounting procedures
- Sage 50 Accounting software experience would be beneficial.
- Proficient in data entry and file management. Must have strong attention to detail
- Very strong working knowledge of Excel.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to be able to work under minimal supervision.
- Resourceful, able to prioritize and maintain effective workflow and communications by handling a variety of projects and tasks simultaneously, through detailed oriented tasks.
- Background in accounting either in experience or through post-secondary education. Strong analytical and data management skills
- Good work ethic with a positive attitude and desire to work as a team
