Accounting Technician

Pay Range $19.00-$30.00/hr

We are seeking a talented and motivated Accounting Technician to be a vital part of our Finance team. If you have a passion for finance and accounting, we want to hear from you!

This is full-time role located at our facility in Cambridge, Ontario. Day shift Monday to Friday with some overtime.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

  • Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring proper coding and approvals.
  • Generate customer invoices based on contracts, purchase orders or service reports
  • Prepare and file period sales tax returns
  • Maintain updated files, research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues, file all correspondence
  • Respond to inquiries from internal and external partners
  • Assist with general ledger postings, journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Support month end and year end closing procedures
  • Provide general support to the finance team on special projects or other duties as assigned
  • Maintain data accuracy in accounting software and ERP systems
  •  Identify opportunities to streamline processes and contribute to workflow improvements
  • Support the implementation or enhancement of accounting systems and controls

Qualifications

  • Must have knowledge of general accounting procedures
  • Sage 50 Accounting software experience would be beneficial.
  • Proficient in data entry and file management. Must have strong attention to detail
  • Very strong working knowledge of Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to be able to work under minimal supervision.
  • Resourceful, able to prioritize and maintain effective workflow and communications by handling a variety of projects and tasks simultaneously, through detailed oriented tasks.
  • Background in accounting either in experience or through post-secondary education. Strong analytical and data management skills
  • Good work ethic with a positive attitude and desire to work as a team
