Partners at Northwestern and the University of Toronto create Improvements in Perovskite Cells

Northwestern Engineering has set a new world record in power conversion efficiency (PCE) for single-junction perovskite solar cells (PSCs). These cells offer lower-cost solar energy compared to traditional silicon cells. By innovating crystal formation techniques to address material defects, they achieved highly stable and efficient cells, with a PCE of 26.15% for small cells and 27.74% for larger devices. This breakthrough enhances the potential for commercializing perovskite solar cell technology, marking a significant advancement in renewable energy research.
